Beim Olivenbauer - Hopfen in Fussen

In October we stopped at the olive farmer in Hopfen am See and ate a fillet of pork "Allgäu style". Food was delicious (4 stars), service okay. In my opinion, what was not possible at all was the implementation of the Corona rules. Just hang up Plexiglas panes, but not to minimize the number of seats and to sit down foreign guests at the table especially not (happens at the next table). Therefore 3 stars

Nice location right on the Hopfensee, we got a seat outside. The waiter was a bit taciturn and aloof, but maybe he was just having a bad day. The food was ok, but not a taste explosion. My friend had curry sausage, which he liked, my noodles were a bit dry and had no special taste. I tell the waiter that when asked, but he only said "ok".

We were there 2 weeks ago and my wife and I each ate 1⁄4 of duck with napkin dumplings! The dumplings were from the wholesale market and the duck wasn't fresh either. They don't see us anymore.

The food was delicious, the service very nice. However, we didn't get to the restaurant until the third attempt. Reservation is not possible. There were always several people waiting in front of the door. The staff is very quick and really gives more than 100%. In my opinion, there are unfortunately too few waiters there. You really have to work under pressure. There is a large round counter in the middle of the room and tables of various sizes, some of the seats are well separated from other tables by plexiglass. the tzaziki was very small, more bread than anything else ...

Were here for dinner the day before yesterday and for breakfast today. The food is delicious and the price-performance ratio is right. Plus, the food came quickly. However, the service was really noticeably unfriendly.

attracted by the high ratings, we were unfortunately quite disappointed. The card wants to please everyone and that usually goes wrong. We had a beef goulash and a roast pork with appropriate side dishes. The meat was tender and tasted good, but the sauce in both dishes was the same and too little bound, the bread dumplings unfortunately a finished product and the "market vegetables" unfortunately only grated carrots. The house brand beer, on the other hand, was very tasty.

Delicious! Point. No star cuisine, but delicious. Price-performance ratio is right. Decent portions, super-friendly staff. We have now been here 3 times, always ate something different, always satisfied. No reservation possible .... no problem. Hey, you are on vacation, you can wait 2 minutes, then something is free again. 👍😀

Hopfensee

Were there twice for breakfast and once for dinner. At dinner everything was in perfect order, very tasty, great premises, price-performance ratio, the waitresses were very nice. At breakfast there was a different service staff on both occasions, both of them very snappy, unfriendly tone. You don't need to make a reservation for dinner, but you will be asked if you haven't made a reservation for breakfast. If you want to sit longer than the stated breakfast times, you have to pay while you are eating and you are asked to empty the plates promptly, which is also quite unfriendly, so that the breakfast times are adhered to. But outside advertise with "continuously warm kitchen" ... It was delicious, even at breakfast. It also fits in terms of price. But the service in the morning was unfortunately impossible.

Solid. Mainly home-style German cuisine, but also pizza and pasta. The atmosphere is rustic and cozy, the staff are friendly and on their toes despite the high number of visitors. The portions were very neat. I wasn't entirely satisfied with my choice of main course, the sauce was a bit watery, which was probably bad luck. The pizza bread was delicious. On the positive side, vegetarian and vegan dishes are clearly labeled.

Really delicious food. Pizza and both currywurst. Properly well prepared, everything homemade. Restaurant is also very clean. The only flaws are the wait staff could be a little nicer. But otherwise all in all price performance is very good

Very good restaurant ... there is something to discover everywhere and the menu is simply wonderful 😄 The food was very tasty and the beer delicious. Unfortunately, the waiter didn't always understand us, but it worked with his hands and feet. The view of the lake while eating is just great ..... Great

Quite apart from the location and the unique view of the Hopfensee with its wonderful mountain panorama, you can recommend this restaurant with a clear conscience. No matter what we have eaten here so far, it has simply convinced us. The dishes were always fresh, nicely presented, sufficient and simply very, very tasty! What we particularly like are the herbs and spices used. The staff is always friendly and attentive, even when the house (and terrace) is full. We are always happy to come back!

Direct view over the lake into the mountains, own beer, exciting menu, friendly service, quick service and also with Corona measures through transparent partitions to the next tables. We felt safe. The food was very tasty, the dressing separately in a small lid bottle. Gladly again!

Nice restaurant in a great location on the beach promenade at Hopfensee. Delicious beer, good food and prices absolutely fine. Sanitary facilities very clean and good hygiene concept in the current times. In the end there was a delicious, homemade beer liqueur on the house. Very happy to come back next time!

The location is very picturesque. The food was tasty, however it seems that I was unlucky because my noodles definitely weren't fresh, you could see some of them being dry, so probably cooked earlier and reheated in a microwave (maybe?). Pity, because the meal was overally very good, and the rest of my family were very satisfied with the dishes served to them. Little detail but makes the difference.

The menu was way to big with around 50 different entree choices. The food took 45 minutes to get to us and was okay. The restaurant was pretty busy but they only had one and a half servers. Despite this the waitress had a great attitude and was visibly trying her best to keep up. Overall I would only come back here for a drink and the great views.

Stopped by here since my Airbnb recommended it. It was a beautiful view of the mountains and lake. Food wise it was ok. I had the fried duck and my wife had the schnitzel. It was ok I’m not a fan of duck. The waiter said it was turkey. So I ordered it. Either way I ate it. My wife wasn’t to happy with the schnitzel it was a bit plain. My main complaint was a bunch of flies around the tables. Drinks were good and view is great. I would recommend this place but I’d try something else on the menu.

Really a very nice concept! The food was delicious, the beer selection great (I recommend the beers of the house) and the menu made original. The waitresses were very attentive and fast. Can I absolutely recommend and will gladly come again. Earned 5 stars

Good food and good view on the lake

The view is the best of the place, which is worth it to stop by and have something. The breakfast menu is very simple for the charged price.

Restaurant with vegetarian and vegan options, we were going there to taste it. Thursday 3rd of January 2019 8:50pm. Only pizza available when the restaurant is supposed to close at 10pm. "You can find somewhere else to eat if you want" Is it called restaurant service ? 😒

Hearty German fare, live oompah entertainment from three yodelling musicians in leather shorts, monster portions. None of the adults managed to finish their mains (I'm a big unit and this is usually a point of pride for me, but a collossal pork knuckle did for me). Kids love it, prices are reasonable, and there are specular views over Hopfensee towards the Allgäu alps, which treated us to an electrical storm for good measure. Super.

Just little overrated, I'm thinking some of the local places would be just as good. Nothing exciting.
